Korean Veterans Commemorate 52nd Anniversary Of War's End
On Wednesday, July 27 at 11 a.m. the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (NJDMVA) in conjunction with the New Jersey Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association will conduct a special commemoration ceremony marking the 52nd Anniversary of the end of the Korean War.
The ceremony will take place at the New Jersey Korean War
Memorial located just east of Brighton Park on Park Place at the Boardwalk
in Atlantic City (adjacent to the north side of Bally's Hotel Casino).
The 52nd Anniversary Commemoration also will include the presentation
of the New Jersey Korean War Service Medal (NJ KSM) to 15 local area residents
who are veterans of that “forgotten” war. Col. (retired) Stephen
Abel, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Affairs (NJDMVA) will present the
medals, Gary Englert, Director, Division of Veterans Services. (NJDMVA)
will act as Master of Ceremonies; Jerry Callahan, USMC, Korean Veteran
and survivor of the Chosin Reservoir will be the featured speaker.
Distinguished guests include Thomas M. McHugh, New Jersey State Commander,
Korean War Veterans Association. |
