Mount Holly resident Pvt. Carmella Vanderpoel was sworn into the New Jersey Army National Guard on May 13. Vanderpoel will serve with the Headquarters Company of the 1st, Battalion, 114th Infantry, located at the National Guard Armory in Woodbury as a Human Resources Specialist after she completes basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
