Details: On Thursday, Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m., 25 members of Headquarters, 50th Finance Battalion, New Jersey Army National Guard will return to their National Guard Armory after successfully completing their yearlong deployment to Iraq. The Battalion was instrumental in creating and maintaining the first Central Funding Facility in Iraq. The facility, which held more than $400 million in U.S. currency at any one time, was responsible for distributing both military and civilian pay to other finance battalions throughout Iraq.
Family, friends and the local community will honor the troops during a Homecoming parade, which will take place along State Highway 12. Local veterans organizations, service organizations, police, and fire units are also scheduled to participate.
Media and public planning to attend are asked
to arrive no later than 1:00 pm to ensure a good vantage point for the
day's activities. |
