DiNapoli To Head 57th Troop Command

      The 57th Troop Command, of the New Jersey Army National Guard, which is commanded by Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, The Adjutant General, is the administrative headquarters for the 119th Corps Support Battalion, 150th Aviation Battalion, 50th Finance Battalion, and the 50th Personnel Services Battalion.  The 57th Troop Command is responsible for ensuring that these units are prepared for state and federal missions.

 

      Col. DiNapoli received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps on June 6, 1981 after graduating from the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Gettysburg College.  He attended Officer Basic at Aberdeen Proving Ground and was stationed as a Company Executive Officer at Ft. Dix.  In August 1984 1st Lt. DiNapoli was accepted into the Rotary Wing Initial Entry Training Course at Ft. Rucker AL, where he completed training as an Honor Graduate in May 1985.  After Completing the AH-1F Cobra Course Capt. DiNapoli was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, serving at Ft. Rucker, Ala., as a Platoon Leader then as an Attack Helicopter Company Commander.  Following his command, he completed the Aviation Advanced Course and was assigned to the Department of Plans and Training at Ft. Rucker.   Capt. DiNapoli joined the New Jersey Army National Guard in July 1989, as a Chief Warrant Officer, cobra pilot, with the 1-150th Aviation Battalion in West Trenton.  After 18 months in the unit he was reestablished as a Captain in January 1991.  While in the Battalion he served in a variety of staff positions including the Battalion Intelligence, Battalion Administration and Battalion Operations Officer.  After serving at New Jersey Army National Guard State Headquarters at Ft. Dix, Maj. DiNapoli was selected to Command the1st Battalion, 150th Aviation in February 2000 and promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
