Governor Corzine And Maj. Gen. Rieth Depart Mcguire AFB To Visit Iraq-Bound N.J. Soldiers Training In Texas
WHO: Governor Corzine; Maj. Gen. Rieth; Newark Mayor Booker; federal, state and local elected and appointed officials; employers of N.J. National Guard Soldiers
WHAT: Passengers are departing for a two-day visit with 2,850 deploying N.J. Army National Guard troops of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, conducting mobilization training at Fort Bliss, Texas
WHEN: 7 a.m., Thursday, July 31
WHERE: McGuire AFB, N.J.
DETAILS – On Thursday, July 31, federal, state and local elected and appointed officials, employers of Guardsmen, and military officials will be departing McGuire Air Force Base bound for Fort Bliss, Texas. The purpose of the two-day trip is to give elected officials and employers an opportunity to visit with troops of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team as they prepare for deployment to Iraq. Media will be able to interview departing personnel at the McGuire Air Force Base passenger terminal.
