Freedom Salute Ceremony Honors

Guardsmen

 

 


Who/What: The Leadership of the New Jersey Army National Guard will honor the Soldiers of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 42nd Division Support Command that served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, their families and those who supported them at a Freedom Salute Ceremony at the National Guard Armory in Somerset.

 

When: Saturday, June 3 beginning at 12:30 p.m.

 

Where: The National Guard Armory in Somerset, 1060 Hamilton Street, Somerset, N.J., 08873.

 

The public is invited to attend.

 

More Details: The event begins at 12:30 p.m. with a parade on Hamilton Street followed by the Freedom Salute ceremony at the Armory at 1 p.m.  In addition to the troops' family members and friends, the event may include participation by Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth – The Adjutant General of New Jersey, local elected officials, community representatives, senior members of the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard, veterans organizations and Family Program and Family Support personnel from around the state.   The Freedom Salute Campaign is the one of the largest Army National Guard recognition endeavors in history, designed to publicly acknowledge Army National Guard soldiers and those who supported them during the President's call to duty for recent military operations.
