More Than 100 NJ Guard Soldiers Prepare To Deploy
WHAT: Farewell Salute for the more than 100 New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers being mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
WHO: Soldiers and families from the 50th Personnel Service Battalion, and 250th Personnel Detachment from the Lawrenceville Armory. The Afghan National Army Embedded Training Team will also be honored.
WHEN: Thursday, January 5 starting at 1 p.m.
WHERE: National Guard Armory, 151 Eggert Crossing Road, Lawrenceville
DETAILS: The Farewell Salute is being held for 80 members of the 50th Personnel Service Battalion and 250th Personnel Detachment, as the units start their Federal activation in the ongoing Global War on Terrorism. They will be joined by a select group of New Jersey Army National Guard members chosen to serve on the Afghan National Army Embedded Training Team. All three units are being mobilized as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and could be on active duty for up to 24 months, with a minimum of one-year ‘boots on the ground' in southwest Asia.
