Proposed New Rule to N.J.A.C. 5A:10
New Jersey Vietnam 25th Anniversary Commemorative Medal Criteria, Procedures For Requesting And Issuance Of The Medal
The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, Office of the Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, has proposed readoption of N.J.A.C. 5A:10. The rule articulates the minimum criteria for awarding the New Jersey Vietnam 25th Anniversary Commemorative Medal and ribbon to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the ending of the Vietnam Conflict in January 1973 and establishes procedures for eligible individuals to request an award or, if deceased, their surviving spouse or immediate family member to request an award on their behalf.
The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs proposes this rule to N.J.A.C. 5A:10, pursuant to authority of N.J.S.A. 38A:3-6(o) and (u) and 35A:15-3 and P.L. 2000 c. 154.
The notice of proposal will be published in the New Jersey Register on November 6, 2006. The public has 60 days in which to comment. Persons wishing to make comments may do so in writing by January 5, 2007 to:
