Families Of Deployed New Jersey Guard Soldiers Invited To Enjoy Holiday Party In Asbury Park
WHO/WHAT:
Holiday Express is sponsoring a Holiday Party for the families of the
nearly 2,900 New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers currently deployed
to Iraq. The families of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will enjoy
a lunch, live entertainment, activities for children and each will receive
a gift bag.
Holiday Express is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization founded in 1993 by Tim McLoone, a restaurateur and musician from the Jersey Shore. From the week of Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, Holiday Express comprised of over 600 volunteers, 90 of which are professional musicians, pack thousands of gift bags, prepare food, don elf and Santa costumes, tune up their instruments and hit the road. Last year, Holiday Express volunteers packed over 15,000 gift bags for adults and children distributed at 54 events in 35 days.
