National Guard Units Return Home From Afghanistan

What:    Welcome Home after a year deployment to Afghanistan

 

When:   1 p.m., Friday, March 9

 

Where:   Lawrenceville Armory, Eggert Crossing Road,

                 Lawrenceville N.J.

 

Media wishing to attend MUST notify Lt. Col. Garcia or Mr. Kryn Westhoven at

(609) 530-6942 no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, March 8.

 

Details – On Friday Mar 9 at 1 p.m., members of the New Jersey National Guard will participate in a Welcome Home ceremony after successfully completing deployments to the Afghanistan theater of operations.  Their year-long deployment was part of Operation Enduring Freedom in support of the ongoing global war against terrorism.  The celebration will include a visit by New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine, and a parade of the soldiers from the corner of Berwyn Place and Route 206 to the Lawrenceville Armory on Eggert Crossing Road.  Family, friends, dignitaries and the local community will be in attendance.

 

Media planning to attend are asked to arrive no later than 12 p.m. at the armory as Route 206 and Eggert Crossing Road will be closed for the parade.
