Guard Soldiers Return To Flemington Armory After Year Long Deployment For Operation Iraqi Freedom
WHO/WHAT: Parade, Welcome Home ceremony and presentation of New Jersey Distinguished Service medal to the members of the 250th Finance Detachment
WHEN: Monday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Army National Guard Armory, 422 State Hwy. 12, Raritan Twp.
DETAILS: The 16 New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers of the 250th Finance Detachment return home from Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit is part of the 50th Finance Battalion located at the Flemington Armory.
The 250th Finance Detachment started their deployment on August 25, 2005 spending three days at the armory before leaving for Fort McCoy, Wis., for mobilization. The unit put their ‘Boots on the Ground' in Iraq in November 2005.
The members of the 250th Finance Detachment will receive the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal during the Welcome Home ceremony that begins with a parade.
