Proposed Amendments to N.J.A.C. 5A:3


New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans’ Affairs, Office of the Adjutant General, Major General Glenn K. Rieth, has proposed readoption with amendments to the chapter governing New Jersey Distinguished Service Medals.

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans’ Affairs proposes amendments to N.J.A.C. 5A:3, pursuant to authority of N.J.S.A. 38A:3-6(o); and N.J.S.A. 38A:3-6(u). Such amendments articulate the minimum criteria for awarding the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal and establishes residency requirement for recipients of the medal. Amendments are proposed to clearly define residency requirements at the time of entry into the service.

The entire notice of proposed changes will be published in the New Jersey Register on June 6, 2005. The public has 60 days in which to comment. Persons wishing to make comments may do so in writing to:
