Historic First For New Jersey Air Guard
Falca-Dodson Becomes State's First Female Two-Star General
WHO/WHAT: New Jersey Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Maria Falca-Dodson of Ewing twp. will be promoted to the rank of Major General at a ceremony at the state headquarters on Fort Dix. She is the first woman in the New Jersey National Guard to become a general officer. Falca-Dodson is the commander of the state's Air Guard which has 2,300 Airmen and includes the 108th Air Refueling Wing at McGuire Air Force Base and the 177th Fighter Wing at Egg Harbor Township. Before taking command of the Air Guard in November, Falca-Dodson served for six years as the Deputy Adjutant General. The Ewing Township resident was the first woman to hold that position as well.
Falca-Dodson will be joined at the ceremony by Maj. Glenn. K. Rieth, the Adjutant General; U.S. Rep. Rush Holt; Col. Rick Fuentes, the New Jersey State Police Superintendent; and Sea Girt Mayor Mark E. Clemmensen. WHEN: Monday, June 22 – 4:30 p.m.
