The New Jersey Army National Guard Aviation Directorate establishes and supervises the state Army Guard aviation program, including aviation safety, maintenance, and standardization.

Publishes written procedures to implement the State ARNG aviation program. Implements the provisions of the aircrew training program (ATP). Maximizes integration of aircrew training with the Army Training and Evaluation Program (ARTEP) and combined arms training. Provides guidance on aviation training to major and subordinate unit commanders. Coordinates use of ARNG aviation assets used by the various organizations within the state.

Prepares and coordinates budgetary information required to support aviation specialized training programs. Develops and implements the annual flying hour program (FHP) to include operational support aircraft (OSA). Ensures AFTPs allocated to the State are not exceeded. Reviews and approves all aviation unit school requests. Reviews, verifies prerequisites, and approves all NGB Form 64 applications for flight training at TRADOC or AATS courses of instruction (COI). Insures that a prompt investigation is accomplished on all aircraft accidents IAW appropriate regulations, to include collateral boards.
