If a New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJANG.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS:  Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

AFSC: 11XX, 12XX, 13BX, 16GX

 

NOTE:  THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED HAS ONE YEAR TO OBTAIN ADVERTISED AFSC/MOS

 

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION:  Must have a Secret Clearance

 

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS:   N/A

 

PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  N/A

 

METHOD OF SELECTION:   NJDMAVA TPR 335.A Merit Placement Plan and the current negotiated union contract.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES (a copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office):    Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the assigned technicians, ensuring that the advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements.  Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Serves as an ALO and JTAC Instructor and Evaluator. Instructs unit personnel on ALO, TAC and TACP/ASOC/S knowledge, skills and abilities.  Serves as unit standardization/evaluation evaluator to ensure Combat Mission Readiness (CMR) of ALO, TAC and Tactical Air Command and Control Specialist (TACCS) personnel.  Serves as senior planner. Review and approve work center training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must possess the appropriate Air Force Aeronautical rating and be fully qualified ANG Career ALO.

 

NOTE:  Applicant must provide copy of current Personnel RIP with application.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:   Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of the principles of organization, management, and administration.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months experience in the following:

ABILITY to develop, recommend, and implement policies and plans.

ABILITY to evaluate adequacy of training programs.

ABILITY to evaluate activities to determine effectiveness and recommend actions to improve quality and efficiency of services.

KNOWLEDGE of required security accountability, records and reports.

KNOWLEDGE of DOD Joint Counter-Land doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures.

 

SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer Course, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for two months of specialized experience.
