New Wing Dedicated

Ocean County Donation

On Nov. 9, a new wing at the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home was dedicated.
U.S. Rep.Frank LoBiondo was the guest speaker, and proclamations were read by State Senator Nicholas Asselta, and State Assemblymen Jeffrey Van Drew and Nelson Albano. Special remarks were made by Vineland Mayor Perry Barse, Joseph Romano, Chief Executive Officer of the Home; retired Col. Stephen Abel, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Affairs and Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, The Adjutant General of New Jersey.
The 1st Battalion 150th Aviation (Air Assault), New Jersey Army National Guard, provided a fly-over with UH-60A Blackhawk helicopters.

The new wing can house 300 residents and replaces three older structures. It features semi-private rooms with their own bath rooms, internet connectivity, and a bi-level courtyard. The new Home can accommodate a wide range of residents needs and also contains a wing dedicated to independent living – the first for a state Veteran Home. The new home also boasts a chapel with stained glass, a library and a full range of amenities including a barbershop, a beauty salon, a dental clinic, vision and auditory offices, private doctor offices, a complete physical therapy room and a snack shop.
