Renaming of Orange Park to Monte Irvin Orange Park, May 16, 2006
In celebration of the life of baseball legend and local hero Monte Irvin, Orange Park was renamed in his honor. The park is especially important to Monte as his former home is located across the street.

1973 induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame

Mexican League - San Juan Senadores - MVP
In 1942, Monte joined the San Juan Senadores of the Mexican League. He dominated each of the Triple Crown categories and was named MVP.
