Renewing your New Jersey driver license can be quick and easy if you prepare ahead. Follow these four steps to learn everything you need to know, such as:

• You can only renew in person; follow special instructions if you are out of the state for an extended period and unable to appear in person

• You can renew up to six months in advance*
