Michael Sebetich has been a professor at William Paterson University for the past 35 years, specializing in limnology, lake ecology and management, and stream ecology. Most recently Dr. Sebetich has been teaching aquatic ecology and studying the effects of land use on urban streams. He has spent the majority of his career focusing on cultural eutrophication—the impact of human activity on the health of lakes and streams.
Prior to joining William Paterson, Dr. Sebetich spent four years researching nutrient cycling in pristine streams for the U.S. Geological Survey. Dr. Sebetich is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Passaic River Coalition and has been Chairman of the Passaic County Open Space Trust Fund Committee since its inception. He holds a Ph.D. in ecology from Rutgers University.
