Mr. Weingart is the Associate Director of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. Previously, he worked on environmental and land use issues in New Jersey state government in the administrations of two Democratic and two Republican governors. He served as both the DEP’s Assistant Commissioner for Environmental Regulation and as Executive Director of the NJ Low Level Radioactive Waste Siting Board. His book about the latter experience, Waste is a Terrible Thing To Mind; Risk, Radiation, And Distrust of Government was published in 2001. Mr. Weingart also hosts Music You Can’t Hear on the Radio, New Jersey’s oldest folk music and bluegrass radio program, on WPRB-FM and WPRB.com. He and his wife, who have lived in Delaware Township since 1982, have one daughter.
