Welcome to the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General
The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) was created by statute to improve and preserve the integrity of the Medicaid program by conducting and coordinating fraud, waste and abuse control activities for all State agencies responsible for services funded by Medicaid.
Provider and Recipient Fraud, Waste and Abuse
As the watchdog over providers offering and recipients receiving Medicaid service, the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General is tasked with the responsibility to oversee services offered by Medicaid providers, protect that Medicaid beneficiaries receive quality of care, and ensure only people who are truly in need of the services receive them.
