Governmental Integrity Unit
The Governmental Integrity Unit conducts confidential character/criminal background investigations for the Offices of the Governor and Attorney General on
potential appointees to various positions within State Government. These positions include but are not limited to Cabinet Members, Judicial Appointment/Reappointments,
Board of Public Utilities, State Parole Board and appointments to the Casino Control Commission, where honesty, integrity and trustworthiness are fundamental to the
candidates ability to perform their duties and responsibilities. In addition, the Governmental Integrity Unit is charged with the responsibility of conducting 4-way
confidential background investigations for state college campus police officers, railroad police officers and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) officers.
