West Trenton -New Jersey State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration combined forces to break up a nationwide crystal methamphetamine operation, arresting four individuals and seizing cash, narcotics and weapons from locations in New Jersey and California.

Arrested and lodged in the Monmouth County Jail on March 18, 2005 were Wallace Jenkins age 50, from San Diego, California, Pamela Ward age 22, from Lacey Township, NJ, Robert Oujo age 44, from Freehold, NJ, and Bruce Wehrle age 51, from Middletown, NJ.

The investigation targeted the crystal methamphetamine distribution activities of Bruce Wehrle, a member and past president of the Bandanas Motorcycle Club, headquartered in Monmouth County. A search of Wehrle's residence in Middletown, New Jersey, revealed a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, two shotguns, a handgun and approximately $3,000.00 cash.

Wallace Jenkins was arrested at the Capri Motel on US 9 in Howell Township, where he was staying, and search warrants were executed at his motel room and his vehicle. A quantity of drugs was seized from both. Simultaneous to this investigation, the DEA-San Diego, executed a search warrant at Jenkins' residence in San Diego. Seized as a result of their search warrant was ½ kilo of crystal methamphetamine, approximately $80,000.00 cash and records indicating that Jenkins' crystal methamphetamine distribution network spanned from California to New Jersey.

Ward and Oujo were both arrested at their residences without incident. Narcotics and currency were seized at both locations.

Wehrle, Jenkins, Oujo and Ward were charged with various drug and weapons offenses, and are pending arraignment in Monmouth County Superior Court.

As a result of the New Jersey investigation, a total of 4 ½ kilos of methamphetamine was seized. The estimated street value of the seized crystal methamphetamine is $350,000.00. Total currency seized in New Jersey as a result of the investigation is $76,527.00. Investigation into the criminal activities associated with these individuals is continuing and additional arrests are expected.

Assisting in the investigation were the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Middletown Police Department, Dover Township Police Department, and the Old Bridge Police Department.
