WHAT:
Attorney General Peter C. Harvey, Shelton
McCall, Deputy Chief Assistant Prosecutor
-Essex County, Irvington Mayor Wayne Smith,
Police Director Michael Damiano and Police
Chief Michael Chase will visit and tour
the Grove Street School PROJECT VISION
Gang Prevention Initiative. The Grove
Street School is the only PROJECT VISION
site in Essex County. PROJECT VISION Programs
currently exist in Bridgeton, Glassboro,
New Brunswick, and Plainfield. PROJECT
VISION is the state’s only after
school gang prevention program. Funding
from the program is provided by the Office
of the Attorney General. The program,
which is administered by the Prosecutor’s
Office, has 8 core elements and provides
alternatives to gang life during and after
school hours.
