Larry Litwin, APR - Chairman
Larry
Litwin, assistant professor of public relations and advertising
at Rowan University, is a graduate of Glassboro State College (M.A.
in educational public relations) and Parsons College (B.A. in business
administration). He is accredited in Public Relations.
During
his 35 years in the communications profession, Mr. Litwin has worked
as a public relations director for school districts and as a radio
and TV reporter -- editor and anchor for ABC in New York and KYW
in Philadelphia. He was education reporter at KYW News radio for
nearly 10-years. He spent two years in the US Department of Labor
as a deputy regional director of information and public affairs
during Elizabeth Dole's tenure as labor secretary. He is secretary
of the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association.
Mr.
Litwin, a contributor to several college textbooks, has written
numerous articles for national magazines. His first book, "The
Public Relations Practitioner's Playbook - A Synergized Approach
to Effective Two-way Communication" (Kendall/Hunt), goes on
sale in July 2003.
He
is the recipient of more than 20 professional awards, including
the Sigma Delta Chi (Society of Professional Journalists) Bronze
Medallion for Distinguished Service in Journalism. The Philadelphia
chapter of PRSA has named Mr. Litwin recipient of its "Public Relations
Educator of the Year Award."
