Public Record Office

The Public Record Office was established as New Jersey's official archival repository in 1920. It was merged with the New Jersey State Library in 1943, and became the Library's Bureau of Archives and History in 1945 (see link below).

The Bureau of Archives and History became the Division of Archives and Records Management, within the Department of State, in 1983.
