Records Management Services provides support to government agencies and their constituencies to ensure that government records are maintained in accordance with New Jersey's public records laws.  

Retention and Disposition

The Bureau of Records Management staff work with agencies to develop and update records retention schedules; research and develop policies on electronic records; aid in the inventory and appraisal of records for reorganization or disposition projects; and approve routine records disposal requests.  read more

imaging Services and micrographics

NJDARM manages the State of New Jersey's centralized microfilming unit, and Specialized Document Imaging Center. The microfilming unit assists state agencies in determining the feasibility of alternative and supplemental image processing systems, including computer assisted retrieval (CAR), computer output microfilm (COM), and optical disk. The Specialized Document Imaging Unit compliments micrographics by providing services to convert paper and microform records to digital images and to create preservation microfilm from digital images. read more
