New In New Jersey

The American Revolution on the Home Front
May 30, 2015
8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

From the Battle of Trenton that revived the American cause to
the record number of engagements within its borders, New Jersey proudly earns its nickname as the Crossroads of the American Revolution.

This dynamic legacy is brilliantly captured in The American Revolution in New Jersey, which identifies and explores the interconnections between the events on the battlefield and the
daily lives of ordinary colonists during the Revolution. The essays explore the political thought that shaped the minds of people in
New Jersey as they began to consider the possibility of declaring independence.

The accompanying program – The American Revolution on the Home Front – will feature a keynote presentation by James Gigantino II entitled, The American Revolution and Slavery
in New Jersey
. Three panels will include contributing authors: Gregory Walsh; Eleanor McConnell; Robert Selig; Michael Adelberg; Bruce Bendler; Donald Sherblom; William Kidder; and Todd Braisted. Architect, Michael Margulies, will offer interpretive tours of the Vought House starting at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

A $20 registration fee ($15 for member) covers morning coffee, lunch, keynote address, panels and an interpretive tour of the 1759 Vought House.
