Princeton Pro Musica presents Handel’s “Messiah”

Princeton Pro Musica will present George Frideric Handel’s Messiah Sunday, December 16 under the direction of new Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau. The concert by the 100-voice chorus and professional orchestra at 3 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium, Princeton, will mark the 42nd performance of a near-annual holiday tradition. Princeton Pro Musica is delighted to present exciting emerging artists as the soloists this year: Melanie Russell, soprano, Nicholas Tamagna, counter tenor, Steven Brennfleck, tenor, and Douglas Williams, bass.

Conductor Ryan James Brandau is the Artistic Director of Princeton Pro Musica and the Monmouth Civic Chorus. Dr. Brandau previously served as Artistic Director of the Santa Clara Chorale, Director of Choral Activities at Santa Clara University, and interim Artistic Director of Musae. He has sung with the American Bach Soloists, the Arcadia Players, the Yale Schola Cantorum, and the Choir of Clare College, University of Cambridge. His choral arrangements and compositions have been performed by groups worldwide. Dr. Brandau holds degrees from the Yale School of Music, Cambridge Univesity and Princeton University.
