Traffic Incident Management Plan Unveiled
The New Jersey Department of Transportation, working with Morris County officials, will unveil the Morris County Traffic Incident Management Plan at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 1998 at the Morris County Fire and Police Academy.
The plan is designed to achieve the benefits of reduced congestion, provide for a coordinated program that will clear incidents, and establish an orderly system to handle the effects of incidents.
"As service providers, we have a responsibility to do all that we can to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s transportation system," said Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. "The concept of one system, many operators is a key component to developing a network that serves the public without duplication of effort or gaps in services. Clearly, that is what this plan intends to accomplish."
The Traffic Incident Management Plan was developed through the combined efforts of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey State Police, the Morris County Chiefs of Police Association, and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management.
The Academy is located at 500 West Hanover Avenue, Parsippany, NJ.
