Route 206 southbound traffic to be detoured in Frankford and Lafayette Townships, Sussex County

Beginning Monday June 11, 2001, Route 206 southbound will be closed to traffic due to construction work. A detour will be in place. Traffic will be restored by the end of the day, Friday, June 15, 2001.

The detour will make use of Augusta Hill Road, Newton Halsey Road, and Halsey Road. Detour signs will be in place, and electronic message boards will be used to help guide motorists through the detour.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is currently widening and adding turning lanes at the intersection of Route 206 and Ross's Corner Road in Frankford Township. The $2.5 million project began in March, 2001, and is scheduled for completion in late July, 2001.
