NJDOT announces ramp closures from Pulaski Skyway to Raymond Boulevard
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced a series of weekend ramp closures on the Route 1&9 Pulaski Skyway in Kearney and Jersey City, Hudson County.
On Saturday, January 15, NJDOT is scheduled to close the Pulaski Skyway southbound exit ramp to Raymond Boulevard in Newark from 7 a.m. until around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 16. This closure, necessary for on-going interim repair operations, will be the first in a series of four weekend closures planned for this ramp this winter. Advance notification will be provided before each ramp closure.
Route 1&9 southbound traffic headed to Raymond Boulevard will continue to the South Kearney exit ramp, or the Wilson Avenue exit ramp, to Ferry Street to Raymond Boulevard. Alternatively, motorists at the Tonnele Circle can access Route 1&9Truck southbound to Raymond Boulevard.
NJDOT is working closely with the City of Newark, the City of Jersey City, the Township of Kearny, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and NJ TRANSIT to coordinate the successful completion of the Pulaski Skyway repairs.
Variable Message Signs have been installed throughout the work corridor to advise motorists of scheduled lane closures and other traffic information. Motorists can access real-time traffic information via the NJDOT website at www.511nj.org
