Ocean Drive ramp to Route 152 eastbound reopens
in Egg Harbor Township
NJDOT replaced ramp that was damaged during Hurricane Sandy

(Trenton) - NJDOT today announced that the Ocean Drive ramp to Route 152 eastbound, which was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy, was reopened to traffic this afternoon in Somers Point City.

NJDOT’s maintenance contractor, Schifano Construction, responded immediately following the storm to begin the temporary replacement of this ramp. The ramp had been essentially destroyed from the force of the storm. The contractor removed the damaged asphalt and made a full-depth reconstruction of the ramp, also placing rip-rap (large support stones) along the roadway on the beach side to help protect the roadway for future events.

Reopening this ramp provides an important connection for Ocean Drive motorists to Route 152 eastbound headed toward Longport.

Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information.
