Department of Transportation

Regulations

New Jersey state regulations, called "rules," implement the statutes that are the legal basis for operating state programs and services. The rules of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) are established within the New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C.) Title 16, Transportation. Rules expire every seven (7) years and must be re-adopted or allowed to lapse.

A courtesy copy of the Tourist Oriented Directional Signs Program (TODS) regulations are published at N.J.A.C. 16:41D. The official version found in the New Jersey Administrative Code can be viewed at LexisNexis. Should a discrepancy be found between the courtesy version and the official version, the latter shall govern.
