Subject: Release of the New Jersey Department of Transportation Survey Manual, dated January 2000.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation Survey Manual, dated January 2000, is a new publication. It is hereby issued as a stand alone document that is to be used to assist the Department and it’s agents to efficiently and consistently produce quality survey work. The surveyors will be able to use this manual on both English and Metric unit Department projects.
Additionally, this manual will be included in the list of referenced documents in all future consultant agreements for design.
Instructions to Designers:
This manual shall be used on all Department projects for which a preliminary design submission is scheduled after March 15, 2000.
Distribution to In-House Staff and Various Public Agencies
Because of its large size, a copy of the Survey Manual is not enclosed herewith. However, those individuals who require a hard copy for their work may obtain by contacting Engineering Documents at (609)530-5587:
In-house staff may obtain a copy of this BDC announcement along with a copy of the Survey manual from the QM shared area on the NJDOT-FA-NTS7 server. To access the shared area, open your Windows Explorer, go to the drop down menu labeled "Tools" and then open pick "Map Network Drive". In the path box, type in \\NJDOT-FA-NTS7\QM, click OK button.
