Route NJ 440
(a) The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 440 described in this section are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30.  In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.
Note: State Highway Route NJ 440 becomes New York State Route 440 from approximate mileposts 5.15 to 18.00, before returning to State Highway Route NJ 440 (Outerbridge Crossing to Bayonne  Bridge).
1. In Middlesex County:
Note: State Highway Route NJ 440 is under Port Authority of NY & NJ jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 3.98 to 5.15.
i.  In the Township of Edison:
ii.  In the Township of Woodbridge:
(1) No stopping or standing along both sides:
(A) Between Route US 9 and the Woodbridge Township – City of Perth Amboy corporate line including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation.
iii. In the City of Perth Amboy:

Note: State Highway Route NJ 440 is under Port Authority of NY & NJ jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 18.00 to 18.85.
i. In the City of Bayonne:
Note: A portion of State Highway Route NJ 440 in the City of Bayonne was formerly known as State Highway Route 169.
(1) No stopping or standing along both sides:
(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.
ii.  In the City of Jersey City:
(1) No stopping or standing along both sides:
(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.
