Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 77
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 77 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Cumberland County:
i. In the City of Bridgeton:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between Route NJ 49 and American Avenue, except for 25 MPH when passing through the Immaculate Conception Regional School zone, (mileposts 0.76 to 1.02) while "25 MPH WHEN FLASHING" signs are operating, during recess or when children are going to or leaving school during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 1.30); thence
(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between American Avenue and Logan Street (approximate mileposts 1.30 to 2.19); thence
(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between Logan Street and the City of Bridgeton - Upper Deerfield Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 2.19 to 2.33); thence
ii. In the Township of Upper Deerfield:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the City of Bridgeton – Upper Deerfield Township corporate line and Northwest Avenue (approximate mileposts 2.33 to 3.07); thence
(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between Northwest Avenue and 1,690 feet south of Deerfield Husted Station Road (County Route 540), except for 35 MPH when passing through the Elizabeth F. Moore School, Charles F. Seabrook School and Woodruff School zones, (mileposts 5.65 to 5.98), while "35 MPH WHEN FLASHING" signs are operating, during recess or when children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 3.07 to 7.18); thence
(C) Zone 3: 40 MPH between 1,690 feet south of Deerfield Husted Station Road (County Route 540) and Friesburg Road (County Route 640) (approximate mileposts 7.18 to 8.05); thence
(D) Zone 4: 50 MPH between Friesburg Road (County Route 640) and the Upper Deerfield Township – Alloway Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 8.05 to 9.81); thence
2. In Salem County:
i. In the Township of Alloway:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Upper Deerfield Township – Alloway Township corporate line and the Alloway Township – Upper Pittsgrove Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 9.81 to 9.93); thence
ii. In the Township of Upper Pittsgrove:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Alloway Township – Upper Pittsgrove Township corporate line and the Upper Pittsgrove Township – Elk Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 9.93 to 17.52); thence
3. In Gloucester County:
i. In the Township of Elk:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Upper Pittsgrove Township – Elk Township corporate line and the Elk Township – Harrison Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 17.52 to 20.74); thence
ii. In the Township of Harrison:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Elk Township - Harrison Township corporate line and Gangemi Lane (approximate mileposts 20.74 to 21.35); thence
(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Gangemi Lane and 1,445 feet south of the center line of the driveway to the Walnut Glen Condominiums (approximate mileposts 21.35 to 21.91); thence
(C) Zone 3: 35 MPH between 1,445 feet south of the center line of the driveway to the Walnut Glen Condominiums and Route NJ 45 (end of route) (approximate mileposts 21.91 to 22.55).
