Awards
NJFIT has
received a number of awards
since its inception in 2005.
These awards include:
2009 Institute of Transportation
Engineers (ITE) Transportation
Planning Council Best
Project Award
- The Route 31 Integrated
Land Use Transportation
Plan (ILUTP) was the
recipient of this ITE
award. The Route 31 ILUTP
was one of New Jersey
Department of Transportation's
(NJDOT) first integrated
planning efforts of its
kind. The Route 31 ILUTP
demonstrated and documented
that NJDOT can successfully
partner with local communities
to achieve outcomes that
move the community and
the State towards a sustainable
future.
2006 American Association
of State Highway Transportation
Officials (AASHTO) President's
Transportation Award
- The NJFIT program
received the 2006 AASHTO
President's Transportation
Award in planning.
2005 American Road
and Transportation Building
Association's (ARTBA)
PRIDE Award
- The ARTBA PRIDE award honors outstanding
programs that enhance the image of the
transportation design and construction
industry. The award recognizes the public
and private sector for excellence in
community relations and public education.
The NJFIT program received the 2005 award
in the public/media relations campaign
category.
