Murphy Administration Announces More Than $8 Million to Build a Diverse, Inclusive Green Jobs Sector
December 8, 2022 – Governor Phil Murphy’s Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy (OCAGE), in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), today announced the release of a Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA) to support innovative pilot programs focused on building a diverse, inclusive green workforce.

September 7, 2022 – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has issued an Order requiring the owner or operator of every commercial building over 25,000 square feet in the state to benchmark energy and water use using the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Portfolio Manager tool, as required by the New Jersey Clean Energy Act signed into law by Governor Murphy in 2018.
New Jersey Students Enter First School Year With K-12 Climate Change Education
September 6, 2022 – In June of 2020 First Lady Tammy Murphy announced that the New Jersey State Board of Education adopted her initiative to make New Jersey the first state in the nation to incorporate climate change education across its K-12 academic standards.

July 25, 2022 – The Charge Up Program is currently the country’s largest cash-on-the-hood incentive program, with a maximum $4,000 incentive. Over the last two years of the program, over 13,000 EVs were purchased or leased with this incentive.
July 18, 2022 – The Department of Environmental Protection has awarded $9.4 million in grants to local government agencies, nonprofit groups, universities and others to fund projects that will improve water quality and reduce the impacts of nonpoint source pollution from stormwater.

May 23, 2022 – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has approved grants totaling $1,059,500 for the purchase of 223 electric vehicle (EV) chargers and the preparation of charger sites for 67 multi-unit dwellings (MUD) in 41 municipalities across New Jersey.
