MEDIA ADVISORY
** Friday, March 21st **

(EWING) - Agriculture Secretary Charles M. Kuperus will host a pizza party for fourth-graders at the Antheil Elementary School on Friday, March 21, in celebration of National Agriculture Day.

The Secretary will use pizza, a favorite food among children and adults, to teach students about where food comes from and the importance of agriculture in New Jersey.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. at the Antheil Elementary School, 339 Ewingville Road.

New Jersey's 9,600 farms generate more than $820 million in annual sales and represent an important part of the state's economy. They also contribute to the quality of life in our communities, providing direct access to fresh, high-quality farm products and offering natural buffers against congestion and sprawl.

American agriculture celebrated its first National Agriculture Day in 1973. National Agriculture Day provides an opportunity to spotlight the contributions of the agriculture industry in New Jersey and throughout the nation.

DIRECTIONS:

Route 29 N. to the Parkside Avenue exit. Follow for approx. 3.5 miles into Ewing. Parkside Avenue will become Ewingville Road. Antheil Elementary School will be on your left.
