AUCTION TO FEATURE BEEF, POULTRY, RABBIT, SHEEP, SWINE,
DAIRY AND MEAT GOATS

(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Junior Breeders, Young Farmers Advisory
Committee is hosting the Spring Classic
Auction on April 17 at the New Egypt Agway.
Animals being auctioned include beef, poultry, rabbit, sheep, swine,
and dairy and meat goats. It will be a unique opportunity for livestock
breeders to sell and buy quality production and market animals in the
Garden State.
All animals must have health certificates and be free of infectious
disease. A veterinarian will be on hand to inspect all animals, with
the right to deny from sale. All sales will be final.
The
New Jersey Junior Breeder Program was created to assist young 4-H
and FFA students who want to participate in an animal production project.
Low-interest loans are available to these young people to purchase
animals. Loans will be available on sale day. This auction is the first
of its kind for the program.
4-H is an informal, practical educational program for youth. FFA is
a national youth organization of student members preparing for leadership
careers in science, business and technology of agriculture.
The Spring Classic Auction will take place 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April
17 at New Egypt Agway, New Egypt, Ocean County. Inspection will take
place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
