ANIMAL WASTE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SESSIONS PLANNED

(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the United State Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service, Rutgers Cooperative Research and Extension, and New Jersey Farm Bureau are hosting a series of three outreach sessions in May to discuss the basics of management of animal waste on agricultural operations.

Topics to be discussed include: reasons for managing animal waste; how animal manure can be used as a resource; information on neighboring states’ programs; basic housekeeping practices; and, an update on the draft New Jersey Department of Agriculture Animal Waste Management Rule.

The public is welcome to attend. Their questions and comments will be taken. Light refreshments will be served.

All sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the following dates:
