GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

See New Jersey Civil Service Commission Job Specification for Police Officer; Title Code 02728.

Applicant's current employer must be willing to approve the transfer, as per Intergovernmental Transfer requirements.

Must be able to pass an extensive background check, physical exam, and psychological exam.  Background investigation includes review of employment records, such as internal investigations file, sick time records, etc.

 
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Applicants must be a Sworn Law Enforcement Officer with a Civil Service Police Department (In good standing).

Must possess a valid NJ Police Training Commission Certificate.

Must not have more than 5 years of experience at the time of hire.

 
 
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

NJ PTC Certificate
