TRENTON , N.J. - The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) today received the New Jersey Excellence in Technology Award for “Best Application Serving the Public” for its System for Administering Grants Electronically (SAGE) Program. The award was presented at the Fifth Annual New Jersey Digital Government Summit.

“SAGE has quickly become a model program for use across the state,” said DCA Commissioner Susan Bass Levin. “It is an efficient and easily accessible way for officials to obtain information on grants.”

SAGE gives local officials the ability to apply for grants, process payments and track grant application and payment requests via the web, and allows them to track their application through all stages of the review and award process.

Each year, the New Jersey Excellence in Technology Awards salutes New Jersey’s IT professionals and managers for their dedication and hard work. Categories recognize leadership, innovation, collaboration and stellar achievements by state and local governments.

The award for “Best Application Serving the Public” is presented to individuals and teams that have designed, developed and deployed applications or improved existing systems that directly deliver services more efficiently to the public.
