Naomi Judd and Suze Orman to Deliver Keynotes at
2008 Governor's Conference For Women


TRENTON, N.J. Department of Community Affairs Acting Commissioner Joseph V. Doria, Jr. has announced that award-winning entertainers and motivational speakers Naomi Judd and Suze Orman will be the keynote speakers at the 2008 Governor’s Conference for Women.  The annual conference, which is hosted by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Division on Women, is slated for Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Atlantic City Convention Center .

Naomi Judd – Morning Speaker

In 1991, after selling over 20 million albums and videos in seven years and at the pinnacle of The Judd’s phenomenal career, Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, a potentially fatal chronic liver disease that forced her retirement.  With unwavering optimism and characteristic inner strength, she stepped out of the spotlight to explore paths that have led to new successful endeavors.  Today, Judd is cured of the Hepatitis C virus and is a spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.  She is also the author of several books, including the best-selling Naomi's Breakthrough Guide: 20 Choices to Transform Your Life, The Transparent Life and Naomi’s Guide to Aging Gratefully. 

Suze Orman – Lunch Speaker

A two-time Emmy Award-winning television host, New York Times bestselling author, magazine and online columnist, writer/producer and motivational speaker, Suze is undeniably America's most recognized expert on personal finance.  The top female motivational speaker in the U.S in 2007 according to Business Week Magazine, Orman has lectured widely throughout the United States, South Africa, Asia and Canada to audiences of up to 100,000 people. She has been featured in almost every major publication in the United States, and has appeared numerous times on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, The View and the Today Show.

About the New Jersey Women’s Conference

The Governor’s Conference for Women is New Jersey’s largest and most dynamic educational and networking opportunity for women across the state.  The conference is self-sustaining, funded entirely through sponsorship opportunities and registration fees. 

The theme of the 2008 Governor’s Conference for Women is “Taking Charge.”  More than 1,200 attendees and speakers are expected to attend the conference, which is designed to empower and educate New Jersey’s women.  Attendees will participate in a variety of workshops on women’s health and wellness, personal and career development, political involvement and financial management.
