REGISTRATION STILL OPEN FOR NJRA REDEVELOPMENT TRAINING INSTITUTE BEGINNER EXCEL-BASED
PROJECT FINANCE CLASS
Attendees Will Learn About Financing Tools and the Types of Financing Available in Today's Market for Residential and Commercial Development


 

TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III today announced that registration is still open for the upcoming Beginner Microsoft Excel-based Project Finance class being held on February 14-15, 2013 at the Newark Housing and Development Office in Newark, NJ. This class is part of the Redevelopment Training Institute hosted by the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA), an affiliated agency of the DCA. 

"The NJRA Redevelopment Training Institute (NJRA RTI) continues to provide quality educational resources resulting in an enhanced knowledge of New Jersey's redevelopment process and project financing,"  said Commissioner Constable, who serves as Chair of the NJRA. "We have received nothing but positive feedback from redevelopment stakeholders who have benefited from this class."

The Beginner Excel-Based Project Finance class will introduce students to the financing tools and the types of financing available in today's market for residential and commercial development including the lease as a form of financing. Attendees will also learn finance concepts and terminology including net operating income (NOI), net present value (NPV), and return on investment (ROI) and how to construct development budgets and operating pro formas using Microsoft Excel. Emphasis will be placed on learning Excel formula composition. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops and have beginner knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Students can receive 13.2 Continuing Legal Education Credits for this course through the Supreme Court of New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education.

The NJRA RTI offers intensive training courses that focus on the redevelopment of New Jersey's communities. The NJRA RTI is designed to provide non-profit and for-profit developers, professional consultants, entrepreneurs, city/county staff, and lawyers with a body of knowledge of the redevelopment and real estate development process and project financing.
