Location: Pequest Natural Resource Education Center, Oxford, Warren County
Job Duration: March through October; position limited to 900 hours
Job Description: The position duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Leading educational programming for paying groups
- Teaching science and outdoor education programs, including hatchery tours, guided hikes and freshwater fishing education programs to children through adults
- Work with volunteers to organize and run freshwater fishing programs
- Maintaining program equipment and supplies
- Assisting in grounds and gardens maintenance including trails
- Greeting visitors and answering questions about the facility and the work of the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, assisting with answering phones, and selling licenses.
- Attending outreach and educational events with the new Mobile Education Trailer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in the environmental sciences or related field (preferred)
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Freshwater fishing experience preferred
- Enjoy working outdoors despite extremely sunny, hot, rainy and/or buggy conditions
- Available to work a varied schedule including weekdays and weekends
Compensation: $15.50-$18.50/hr. (based on experience)
