Aquatics Program Supervisor

Starting Salary $30 per hour
Vacancies 1 (Statewide Position)

Description Responsible for oversight of the United States Lifesaving Association Certification for our ocean and freshwater swimming areas. This position oversees the NJ State Park Service American Safety and Health Institute training center and trainers.

Lifeguard Trainer

Starting Salary $25 per hour

Description Responsible for training and certifying lifeguards in American Safety and Health Institute Advanced First Aid, BLS, oxygen administration, the use of an automatic external defibrillator, and bloodborne pathogens.

Lifeguards

Starting Salary $17.50 per hour ($18.50 per hour for Island Beach)
Vacancies Available Statewide

Description Lifeguard positions are anticipated at nine swimming areas across the state. While candidates must pass running and swim tests prior to employment, prior experience is not necessary. Paid training is provided and each lifeguard will receive a U.S. Lifesaving Association certification.

Junior Lifeguards

Starting Salary $16 per hour
Vacancies Available Statewide

Description Junior lifeguards are hired at 15 years old and will work on skills training, giving new recruits a head start on their training. Junior lifeguards cannot perform lifeguard duties for the public until age 16.
