Allaire State Park

As of 3/10/16, please keep out of the JCP&L Right-of-Way/construction zone and obey posted signs. The fishing access road on Herbertsville Road will not open for trout season this year due to construction in the area. Any questions, please call 1-866-840-3765.

Corson's Inlet State Park

Due to beachfront erosion we have temporarily suspended the Catamaran Storage Program. Please contact the Belleplain State Forest office at 609-861-2404 for additional information.

Be aware that the beach at Corson's Inlet is inaccessible at high tide. Hurricane Sandy caused severe erosion to the beach. It is suggested you visit the beach to view the conditions before you purchase your permit. Refunds will not be issued due to the existing conditions.

D & R Canal State Park

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, the multiuse trail at the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park will be closed from DeMott Lane to 5 Mile Lock in Franklin Township, Somerset County.

Double Trouble State Park

Carriage Road is closed south of White Bridge due to storm damage.

Effective March 28, 2014, the White Bridge Cedar Creek Access location at Double Trouble Village is restricted to walk-in use and livery services holding a valid commercial special use permit.  Canoes and kayaks must be carried to the White Bridge from the Village parking area, a distance of approximately 3/10 of a mile.  Vehicles are no longer permitted to drive through Double Trouble Village.

Hacklebarney State Park

The park office at Hacklebarney is temporarily closed. Information regarding Hacklebarney State Park can be obtained by contacting Spruce Run Recreation Area at (908) 638-8572.

Highpoint State Park

The interior of the monument will be closed on the following dates:
August 18-19 and August 22-30

Hopatcong State Park

LAKE HOPATCONG WEED HARVESTING PROGRAM: The State Park Service should commence harvesting on Lake Hopatcong in mid to late May 2016.  More definite dates and locations will be provided in early to mid May.

Island Beach State Park

A $3 walk-in fee (free for children under 3-years old) will be assessed for those who enter the park at Fisherman’s Walkway adjacent to Tices Shoal while lifeguards are on duty. Access to the park by boat is only permitted at the Fisherman’s Walkway bayside access.

The State Park Service is pleased to announce that Island Beach State Park will be opening earlier through the off-season for all our park visitors including birders, hikers, beach walkers and those who may just want to watch the sun rise!  From November 1 through April 30th the park will be open from dawn to dusk for all to enjoy.  The Park opening time will revert to 8:00 am on May 1st. 

Liberty State Park

Shuttle buses are currently NOT operating in the park until further notice.

The park office and visitor center located at 200 Morris Pesin Drive is now open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The park is open, but the historic CRRNJ Terminal Building and the Nature Interpretive Center Buildings are still closed due to Hurricane Sandy storm damage.

Long Pond Ironworks State Park

Due to a bridge washout, the Hasenclever, Sterling Ridge, and Highlands Trails are partially closed at the Wanaque River. The Sterling Ridge and Highlands Trails are accessible via the Jennings Hollow Trail off East Shore Road. The Hasenclever Trail is accessible from the end of Beech Road.

Approximately a 3/4 mile portion of the Hasenclever Iron Trail is temporarily closed to the public in the area of Peter's Mine. From the Ringwood Manor side it is approximately 1.5 miles in and 4 miles in from Long Pond Ironworks. There is currently no reroute, please plan accordingly. Ramapo Moutain State Forest

The parking area and trail access point located on Barbara Drive within Town of Pompton Lakes has been closed by the property owner.  Trail users are no longer able to access the South Ridge or Cannonball Trails from this area.  Visitors are encouraged to utilize the parking area on Pool Hollow Road or either of the established parking areas on Skyline Drive.  For more information please contact the Ringwood State Park Office at (973) 962-7031.

Ringwood State Park

Due to the closure of the bridge across Ringwood Brook, the segment of the Ringwood/Ramapo (red) and Crossover (white) Trails between Parking Lot B in the Ringwood Manor section and Sloatsburg Road is currently closed. Access to these trails and adjoining trails is available from the Shepherd Lake section of the park.

Spruce Run Recreation Area

Attention Boaters:  Due to the ongoing release of water from Spruce Run Reservoir to meet the demands of the New Jersey Water Supply Authority customer needs, the water level has fallen below the boat launch docks.  Boaters may experience some difficulty in launching their boats.

Voorhees State Park

Wharton State Forest

Starting April 4, Washington Turnpike in Wharton State Forest will be intermittently closed for three months. State Forest Service and Forest Fire Service will be working in this area to create a firebreak and fuelbreak that will help keep surrounding communities safe from wildfire. Learn more
