[SRRA]: March Hot Topic - Training on the Data Miner and the Confirmed Discharge Notice (CDN) and ISRA General Information Notice (GIN) Online Services

Training on the Data Miner and the Confirmed Discharge Notice (CDN) and ISRA General Information Notice (GIN) Online Services will be held on Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (check-in at 3:30 PM) in the DEP Public Hearing Room, 401 E. State Street, Trenton.

Program Description:
The program will cover how to initially enter case information into the online service and how to navigate through the Data Miner system.

Things to note:
Use of these Online Services is currently not mandatory. Pursuant to the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites [N.J.A.C. 7:26C-1.6(c)], use of these Online Services will become mandatory 90 days after the Department publishes a notice in the New Jersey Register stating that the Online Services are available. Until such time, either the Online Service or a paper Form may be submitted.

Items to be aware of:

  1. For CDN, Owner/Operators can link an Incident to an existing case, but should NOT do so if:
    1. The person responsible for the Incident is different from the existing case; or
    2. Any remediation timeframes for the incident will not meet the existing case's remediation timeframes.
  2. A completed and scanned "Authorization Form To Submit A Confirmed Discharge Notification (CDN) or General Information Notice (GIN) through NJDEP Online" is required to complete the services, and is also available on the forms page (www.nj.gov/dep/srp/srra/forms/).
  3. CDN and GIN online services where the preparer did not choose an existing Facility (program interest) or Responsible Party will receive a status of "Pending DEP" approval and will be reviewed by DEP to determine if the submission can be matched to an existing facility or responsible party. The acknowledgement email will be sent after the matching process is completed and either the service is matched to an existing facility or a new Program Interest (PI) ID is created for the facility.
